Our Goal: Our goal is to increase awareness and to educate the public about poison prevention information. We would like expand our program to interest people of all ages about the steps that you can take to help prevent unintentional poisonings from household items, bites and stings, cosmetic products, medications, or plant poisons. Also to hand out educational brochures and how to contact the Poison Prevention Hotline in case of emergency. This year our goal is to present in a variety of settings, such as retail pharmacies, organizational fairs, day-care centers, and community libraries. One of our biggest successes last year was presenting during the Poison Prevention Week in March of 2007, where we reached hundreds of people by passing informative chip clips, as well as increase the awareness of the pharmacist’s role in poison prevention.
