Midyear Regional Meeting - Policy Proposal
"APhA-ASP encourages that all prescriptions given to patients be tamper-resistant."
Background Statement:
Fraudulent prescriptions are a problem for nearly all community pharmacies. Some payers have already started requiring tamper-resistant measures, such as the use of tamper-proof paper or written out quantities (ex. Sixty {#60}), be in place in order for prescription claims to be paid. Our intention with this resolution is that all prescriptions should have these tamper-resistant measures, in order to reduce the likelihood that forged prescriptions are filled and dispensed to patients.
